River Otter Behavior

River otters live in burrows near the water. They communicate with a variety of sounds like chirps, squeals, screams, and growls. These animals are carnivores and are mostly active at night. They eat fish, insects, crustaceans, frogs, and sometimes even small mammals. River otters use their sensitive facial whiskers to detect the moving prey.
